Our Road...

Since Trent Valley Road Clubs formation in 2011 it has grown rapidly and become the biggest leisure and racing cycling club in the Gainsborough area.

The British Isles has a long standing love affair with riding a bike and in the past two years has produced some of the Sports finest cyclists. The Olympic effect coupled with a heightened awareness of the benefits of living a healthy lifestyles and remaining active has re-ignited this passion and has helped the Trent Valley Road Club to raise membership by 400% during the 2013 season.

Trent Valley Road Club run a full calendar of Time Trial events and Circuit Racing throughout the summer months. Members also participate in time trials and road races across the east midlands. Many of our members also ride sportive events across the country.  Trent Valley Road Club are affiliated to British Cycling, the Cycling Time Association (CTT) and to the Lincolnshire Road Riding Association (LRRA).

However we don't just ride competitively, far from it. Our Sunday morning club rides meet at 9:00am outside Costa Coffee on Marshalls Yard.  These rides are kept to a pace that all attendees can manage. Nobody who attends will be left behind and all club members are willing to help and offer advice, especially the more experienced riders.

More information on the Sunday club ride can be found on our Sunday club ride section in News and Events

As mentioned many of our members participate in sportives, including the new Lincoln Grand Prix sportive which takes place in May. These non-competitive events provide a good goal for anyone new to cycling to work towards.

Over the summer months we hold weekday evening training rides for those who wish to ride at a more demanding pace. During the winter we are staging reliability rides which alternate with the club run on Sunday mornings. See the club runs menu for details.
